Sweetest in the Gale
Women in Song
Sweetest in the Gale (SinG), the Oratorio Chorale’s women’s chorus, takes its name from a poem by Emily Dickinson, “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers.” Founded in 2015, “SinG” is an auditioned ensemble of 25–30 singers that explores the robust repertoire of choral works for women’s voices with a focus on technique, musicianship skills, and building community. Sweetest in the Gale is directed by Maria Belva, and rehearsals take place Tuesday evenings in Freeport from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. SinG performs in OC’s annual Sing We Noël performances as well as in their own concert each spring.
