Sweetest in the Gale (SinG)
Director Emily Isaacson and the Oratorio Chorale launched a new women’s chorus in Fall 2015. The group takes its name from a poem by Emily Dickinson, “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers.” An auditioned ensemble of 24 singers, SinG explores the wonderful repertoire of choral works for women’s voices and focuses on vocal technique, musicianship skills, and building community. Rehearsals take place Wednesday evenings at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Falmouth. In addition to performing at the Chorale’s Sing We Noël concerts, the group will hold its own concert, “Baroque Beauties,” featuring music by Pergolesi, Monteverdi, and women composers Barbara Strozzi and Caterina Assandra, on Saturday, April 8, at St. Mary’s Church, and Sunday, April 9, at St. Paul’s Church in Brunswick.
