For more than 40 years, the Oratorio Chorale has promoted and strengthened the choral arts in midcoast Maine through innovative programming and high-quality performances of music as a living art. Today, residents and visitors in our region enjoy a wealth of opportunities to hear great music, attend theater productions, visit artists and craftspeople, and take courses in many aspects of the arts.
In fact, the area’s cultural resources and natural beauty now draw national attention, as seen in the May 2012 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, which named Brunswick one of the nation’s 20 best small towns, or in the 2012 “Great American Main Street Award” given to Bath by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Such success also breeds competition, both for audiences and for financial resources. We rely on contributions and advertising from individuals, businesses, and foundations to provide essential funding for our programs. Opportunities for support are listed below.
We invite you to partner with us to support the art of choral music.
Concert and Season Sponsorships provide direct assistance for our concert programs and are especially important for concerts with professional instrumentalists and soloists. We welcome the support of area businesses through four levels of concert and season sponsorships.
More information on levels of support and sponsor benefits is available at Concert and Season Sponsorships.
Program advertising by more than 100 businesses and individuals clearly shows the support of our midcoast communities for the arts. Ads run in all programs for the season and are seen by 1000 or more individuals who are year-round patrons of local businesses.
For more information on ad rates, sizes, and formats, please see Program Advertising.
The financial support of many individuals helps us sustain the tradition of choral music. Tickets are offered at prices that will keep our programs accessible for our audiences, but those revenues can cover only a portion of our costs. Almost a fifth of our annual budget comes from individuals who support community arts organizations like the Oratorio Chorale.
Gifts to the Chorale, a non-profit arts organization, are fully tax-deductible. All contributions will be recognized in our programs, and you will know as you listen to our music that you helped to make it happen.
For more information and a donations form, please see Individual Contributions.
Most of our concert programs combine vocal music with orchestral and instrumental accompaniment. Our Orchestra Chair program offers donors a significant opportunity to support and strengthen our programs and to recognize the professional musicians who add so much to the art of living music.
The Oratorio Chorale seeks the support of businesses and foundations through an active program of research and grant applications. Grants received support concert costs, access to performances for community members, purchase of needed equipment and development of resources such as this website, and outreach programs.
For more information on grants, please contact us at email@example.com or call (207) 725-4258.
We welcome your gift in the form of a check, pledge, or gift of stock. The Oratorio Chorale is a duly constituted non-profit arts organization. All gifts to the Oratorio Chorale are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
