We are an independent, non-profit arts organization made up of about 50 auditioned men and women singers, mostly from midcoast Maine communities. Our membership is as diverse and varied as our programs. It is the blend of our varied backgrounds and choral experience that creates our strength, both vocally and behind the scenes.
Our music director, Emily Isaacson, comes to us from Boston, where she is also music director of Boston City Singers’ upper high school division. She is a native of Brunswick, Maine, and a graduate of Williams College with master’s degrees from Edinburgh University and the University of Oregon. She is currently a doctoral candidate in choral conducting at the University of Illinois.
We rehearse Sunday evenings at the Midcoast Presbyterian Church in Topsham beginning promptly at 6 p.m. The full chorus rehearses from 6:00 to 8:30, with rotating sectional rehearsals from 8:30 to 9 p.m. The last four rehearsals before each concert will be full-chorus rehearsals. See Rehearsal Schedule for the complete season schedule .
The chorus has been around since 1974 and is the artistic home to a robust group of enthusiastic singers … [who] come together to sing for the joy of vocal expression and for the satisfaction of artistic accomplishment.
